Silkback / Silkie

A variant of Bearded dragon (Pogona vitticeps)

Silkback / Silkie

Representative Bearded dragonphoto — a dedicated image of this exact morph isn't available yet.

The super (homozygous) form of leatherback: completely scaleless with smooth, glossy skin. Visually striking but linked to real welfare issues.

Keeper tips for this variant

Welfare caveat: silkbacks shed in patches, dehydrate fast, and are prone to skin tears and stuck shed around eyes/toes; mist often, file basking surfaces smooth, and NEVER breed silkback x silkback ethically given the trait load.

This page covers the Silkback / Silkie variant. For full husbandry, water params, diet and health —General care: Bearded dragon
