Lutino

A variant of Cockatiel (Nymphicus hollandicus)

Lutino

A sex-linked mutation removing grey melanin, leaving a white-to-pale-yellow bird with red eyes, orange cheeks, and a yellow crest.

Keeper tips for this variant

Many lutino lines carry a hereditary bald spot behind the crest — harmless, but choose breeders selecting against it, and shield red eyes from harsh direct sun.

This page covers the Lutino variant. For full husbandry, water params, diet and health —General care: Cockatiel
