Frizzled (single Mf gene)
A variant of Frizzle (Gallus gallus domesticus)
Representative Frizzlephoto — a dedicated image of this exact morph isn't available yet.
The standard pet-quality frizzle, heterozygous for the incomplete-dominant *Mf* gene, giving the classic feathers that curl outward away from the body. Most show and backyard 'Frizzles' are this single-gene type.
Keeper tips for this variant
Curled feathers insulate poorly and shed water badly — provide a draft-free, dry coop and extra winter warmth, since frizzling reduces the bird's natural weatherproofing.
