The classic multicolor wild Wellso: a folded, fused-wall brain showing bands of orange, green, blue, aqua, purple and sometimes yellow across one or more mouths. The most widely traded 'named' grade of this coral.
📜 Backstory
'Rainbow' is the standard trade grade used across the hobby for multicolored wild-collected Wellso/Trachy brains. It is a catalog grade at LiveAquaria ('Wellso Folded Brain Coral, Rainbow') and is sold and traded by vendors such as Aqua SD, Lucky Corals and Queen City Corals, and heavily on reef2reef sales threads. These are wild colonies rather than a single aquacultured lineage, so each Rainbow Wellso is essentially a one-off — origin debated piece to piece.
Keeper tips for this variant
Place on the sandbed or a low rock shelf under low-to-moderate light and gentle flow — strong flow folds the fleshy tissue and prevents full inflation. Keep alkalinity stable, as these brains are sensitive to swings.
