Blue Colt

A variant of Colt Coral (Cladiella sp.)

Blue Colt

Representative Colt Coralphoto — a dedicated image of this exact morph isn't available yet.

A *Cladiella* colt showing a cool blue-to-purple cast on its branches, an effect most visible under blue-heavy LED lighting. The fuzzy polyps sit on the typical loose, finger-like soft branches.

📜 Backstory

Offered as a 'Blue Colt Soft Coral Colony' by Corals Anonymous, who themselves describe Colt coral's usual colors as 'beige, pale pink, or light green.' The blue/purple look is largely a natural pigment plus a lighting effect under LEDs rather than a stable designer morph, and lineage is not formally tracked — so the origin is best described as a wild-collected color form (origin otherwise debated).

Keeper tips for this variant

Run it under blue-rich LED at moderate intensity to bring out the blue tones, with moderate indirect flow so the colony inflates. Hardy and beginner-appropriate like the rest of the genus.
