The natural form: grey body, black tear-stripe, orange cheek patch (males), barred throat, and chestnut flanks with white spots. The hardiest, most prolific zebra finch.

Keeper tips for this variant

Wild-types breed almost too readily; pull nesting material if you don't want constant clutches, as overbreeding quickly drains hens of calcium.
