Red Golden (wild-type)
A variant of Golden pheasant (Chrysolophus pictus)

Representative Golden pheasantphoto — a dedicated image of this exact morph isn't available yet.
The classic male: golden crest, scarlet underparts, orange-and-black cape, and a long barred tail; hens are mottled brown. The wild-type form and easiest to source.
Keeper tips for this variant
Keep in a densely planted flight pen with evergreen cover so the shy hen feels secure and the male displays; house strictly away from chickens (blackhead) and away from Lady Amherst's pheasants to avoid hybridizing.
