📜 Backstory
Carried as the 'Purple Ribbon Gorgonian' / 'Angular Sea Whip' (*Pterogorgia anceps*) by LiveAquaria, KP Aquatics, and other Caribbean suppliers. It is a hardy, easy, shallow-water photosynthetic Caribbean gorgonian and a long-standing staple of the sea-fan section. The name is descriptive of the ribbon-shaped branches, not a designer line; lineage is wild Caribbean collection, commonly aquacultured.
Keeper tips for this variant
Give moderate-to-high light and brisk flow; the flat ribbon branches do best when current hits their broad faces to keep the edge polyps extended and detritus off. Photosynthetic and very hardy, it benefits from but does not require supplemental feeding.
