Roan / Dalmatian

A variant of Guinea pig (Cavia porcellus)

Roan / Dalmatian

Representative Guinea pigphoto — a dedicated image of this exact morph isn't available yet.

White hairs intermingled through a coloured coat (roan) or coloured spots on a white body with a coloured head (dalmatian), both caused by the same roan/spotting gene.

Keeper tips for this variant

Never breed roan-to-roan or dalmatian-to-dalmatian: the double dose is a lethal 'lethal white' factor producing blind, deaf, often malformed pups; keeping a single roan or dalmatian pet is perfectly fine.

This page covers the Roan / Dalmatian variant. For full husbandry, water params, diet and health —General care: Guinea pig
