Rainbow Micromussa (Rainbow Acan Lord)
A variant of Micromussa (Micro Lord) (Micromussa amakusensis)
The catch-all Aussie-import rainbow Micro Lord: fat fleshy polyps splashing through red, orange, yellow, green, and blue across a single oral disc. These are the funky multicolor *Micromussa lordhowensis* (formerly *Acanthastrea lordhowensis*) pieces commonly called 'Acan Lords' or just 'Lords.'
📜 Backstory
Not a single named clone but a broad trade category. Most rainbow Micro Lords are wild-collected from Australian reefs (with some from Indonesia) and sold generically as 'Rainbow Micromussa Lord' or 'Rainbow Acan Lord' by many vendors, including Tidal Gardens, Ultra Coral Australia, Doc Aquarium, Zeo Box Reef, and SaltwaterFish.com. Because so many independent Aussie colonies look alike, the specific lineage of any one 'Rainbow' piece is essentially always debated.
Keeper tips for this variant
Place under a bluer spectrum at moderate PAR; a stronger blue light helps hold the rainbow coloration, whereas hot white-heavy light tends to morph it toward dominant red/orange. Leave space between colonies, as Micromussa have a strong sting.
