The large Japanese Shamo — a tall, muscular, upright game fowl (males often 3 kg+) with a hard feather, prominent shoulders and an erect 'standing' stance bred from Asian gamefowl.

Keeper tips for this variant

Mature males are highly aggressive and must be penned individually — never house two cocks together, and use tall, sturdy pens that suit their upright carriage.
