A variant of African fat-tailed gecko (Hemitheconyx caudicinctus)

Amelanistic (Amel)

Representative African fat-tailed geckophoto — a dedicated image of this exact morph isn't available yet.

A simple recessive that removes black pigment, leaving caramel, orange and white tones with red eyes. The first widely-established AFT morph and the basis for many combos.

Keeper tips for this variant

Amel eyes are mildly light-sensitive — keep the basking zone moderate and provide deep hides so the animal can self-regulate light exposure.
