Tangerine / Oreo

A variant of African fat-tailed gecko (Hemitheconyx caudicinctus)

Tangerine / Oreo

Representative African fat-tailed geckophoto — a dedicated image of this exact morph isn't available yet.

Tangerine is a selectively-bred line intensifying orange/red body color; Oreo is a co-dominant trait darkening the animal toward near-black with high contrast. The two are frequently stacked for striking combos.

Keeper tips for this variant

Tangerine color is line-bred (polygenic) not a single gene — color depth improves with age and proper UVB/supplementation, so judge breeders by adult photos, not hatchlings.
