Leucistic

A variant of Axolotl (Ambystoma mexicanum)

Leucistic

Pale pinkish-white body with dark eyes and red external gills; arose from a selectively-propagated mutation and is the iconic "pink" axolotl of the trade.

Keeper tips for this variant

Keep PAR-free, dim lighting and avoid bright white tank backgrounds — leucistics show every speck of dirt and can develop stress-related gill recession under harsh overhead light.
