A red-to-pink colony body ringed by a neon-green growth edge with green eyes, evoking watermelon flesh and rind.
📜 Backstory
A long-standing descriptive trade type for Australian-collected Echinophyllia (the 'Australian watermelon chalice'), common in Australia and widely aquacultured and sold by many vendors. Origin debated, as it is a wild-color type rather than a single named clone.
Keeper tips for this variant
Moderate light and low-to-moderate flow keeps the red body rich; brighter light can fade it toward orange.
