Golden-mantled

A variant of Eastern rosella (Platycercus eximius)

Golden-mantled

Representative Eastern rosellaphoto — a dedicated image of this exact morph isn't available yet.

The golden-mantled race/form (P. e. cecilae) with the black back feathers broadly edged in rich gold-yellow instead of greenish, giving a more vivid scalloped mantle. Most aviary 'Easterns' are of this brighter type.

Keeper tips for this variant

The bright mantle depends on good nutrition — feed a varied diet with natural carotenoids so the gold edging stays saturated through the molt.
