The most common wild head color — a jet-black mask. Roughly three-quarters of wild Gouldians are black-headed, making it the default in the trade.

Keeper tips for this variant

Gouldians are sensitive to cold and to air-sac mite — keep them above about 18°C/65°F with good ventilation, and treat prophylactically for mite at the first sign of clicking/wheezing.
