Blue-breasted

A variant of Gouldian finch (Chloebia gouldiae)

Blue-breasted

Representative Gouldian finchphoto — a dedicated image of this exact morph isn't available yet.

A recessive mutation that removes yellow ground color, turning the green back to teal/blue and the purple breast to a cool blue. One of the most sought-after Gouldian mutations.

Keeper tips for this variant

Blue (and especially single-factor 'blue-bodied') lines can be less hardy and smaller — buy robust stock, keep them extra warm, and outcross to normals to rebuild vigor before breeding blue-to-blue.
