Red Base Long Tentacle Anemone
A variant of Long tentacle anemone (Macrodactyla doreensis)

Representative Long tentacle anemonephoto — a dedicated image of this exact morph isn't available yet.
The standard wild form and the source of the species' nicknames: a vivid red-to-orange column (the 'red base' or 'red foot') topped with tan, brown or pale green wavy tentacles, frequently striped with white on the disc.
📜 Backstory
This is the baseline trade form, sold simply as 'Long Tentacle' / 'Red Base' / 'Corkscrew Anemone' by LiveAquaria, FreshMarine, DreamAquatic, BlueZoo Aquatics and most wholesalers. It is wild-collected across the Indo-Pacific and carries no designer lineage. The 'Red Base Anemone' and 'Corkscrew Anemone' common names both derive from this everyday form rather than from any single vendor or collector.
Keeper tips for this variant
Bury the bright red column entirely in deep (4-inch-plus) sand — that red foot is the part that must stay protected; only the tentacle crown and disc should sit at the surface. Moderate-to-high light and gentle flow suit it best.
