The classic *Catalaphyllia jardinei*: a sweeping mantle of wavy tentacles, typically tan-brown with neon-green or pink tips and a striped oral cone.
📜 Backstory
This is the long-standing wild-collected Indonesian Elegance that dominated the trade for decades. Notoriously, Indo-sourced Elegance suffered a well-documented wave of mysterious die-offs — later dubbed 'Elegance Coral Syndrome' — from roughly the late 1990s through the 2000s, which is why hobbyists later sought out hardier Australian stock; the name reflects collection origin, not a designer morph.
Keeper tips for this variant
Place on the sandbed (not rock) in low-to-moderate light and gentle flow, mimicking the soft inshore substrate it's collected from.
