Red / Maroon Base Magnificent Anemone

A variant of Magnificent anemone (Heteractis magnifica)

Red / Maroon Base Magnificent Anemone

Representative Magnificent anemonephoto — a dedicated image of this exact morph isn't available yet.

A premium magnifica selected for a deep red-to-maroon column, one of the most striking base colors in the species. The brilliant red foot against a pale tentacle crown is the draw.

📜 Backstory

Red-base magnificas are exceptional wild individuals graded up by importers and vendors for column color; "red base" is a trade descriptor, not a propagated clonal line. Because H. magnifica rarely splits in captivity, colored bases are essentially one-off wild pieces and command a premium over purple or green. The intense base color combined with the species' difficulty makes these trophy animals for experienced keepers.

Keeper tips for this variant

Demands the same intense lighting and flow as other magnificas; place high under strong light and resist moving it once it settles, as repeated relocation stresses this species badly.
