Red / Red-Magenta Base Rainbow Ritteri

A variant of Magnificent anemone (Heteractis magnifica)

Red / Red-Magenta Base Rainbow Ritteri

Representative Magnificent anemonephoto — a dedicated image of this exact morph isn't available yet.

The most coveted wild magnifica: a deep red-to-magenta column with multicolor tentacles, the combination hobbyists call a 'rainbow' magnifica.

📜 Backstory

Documented as 'The Red-Magenta Base Rainbow Ritteri/Magnifica' in a 3reef forum thread and discussed on Reef2Reef (a 'Heteractis magnifica Red Ritteri' thread runs there) as a holy-grail color form. It is wild-collected, not man-made; lineage is simply an exceptional wild specimen rather than a propagated designer line. Vendors such as Tropical Marine Centre market the species' 'rainbow of colours' around these rare red-base individuals.

Keeper tips for this variant

These high-color animals demand pristine, stable water plus very strong light and flow to hold their pigment; do not buy one unless the tank is mature and the lighting can support a true high-light anemone long term.
