The smaller-polyp 'micro lord' cousin of the classic acan, with tight corallites in solid colors or subtle rings and contrasting mouths; rainbow pieces are highly sought.
📜 Backstory
*Micromussa amakusensis* is a small-polyp Indo-Pacific cousin of the classic acan lord, popularized in the trade as the **'New Micro-Lord'** in a May 2023 *CORAL Magazine* feature by field editor **Vincent Chalias** based on an ex-situ grow-out at **Bali Aquarium** in Indonesia. Rainbow specimens are aquacultured/wild-collected from Indo-Pacific stock; specific morph lineages are largely origin debated.
Keeper tips for this variant
Because the polyps are smaller, keep flow gentle and feed finely; low-to-moderate blue light around 75-120 PAR preserves the rainbow ring pattern.
