A deep, uniform navy-blue *Acropora tortuosa* with tubular, irregular radial corallites and a notably slow, dense growth habit — often called the bluest acro you can buy.
📜 Backstory
One of the oldest named torts in the hobby, distinct from the California Tort. Its lineage is fairly well documented (chronicled by Reef Builders and ReefBum): it traces to a colony that originally came in from Bali via Shaun Monahan of Waves in Portland, OR, and was passed around for well over a decade as a benchmark blue tort. Now also offered as an ORA aquacultured strain.
Keeper tips for this variant
A slow grower that holds its blue best under moderate-to-high light; give it a stable spot with strong flow and be patient (it speeds up once established).
