JF Bounce Mushroom
A variant of Mushroom coral (Discosoma sp.)

Representative Mushroom coralphoto — a dedicated image of this exact morph isn't available yet.
A *Discosoma*-type bounce mushroom covered in raised, bubble-like vesicles that swell into a popcorn texture, the original line carrying a green-to-pink gradient across an inflated body.
📜 Backstory
Bounce mushrooms are abnormally vesiculated *Rhodactis*/*Discosoma*-type shrooms that first reached prominence through the vendor Jason Fox (JF), whose 'JF Bounce' became a benchmark name. The vesicle trait is a developmental quirk that does not always pass to daughters, and large established mother polyps split slowly, so verified bounces command four-figure prices per polyp. The origin of the very first bounces is debated, but Indo-Pacific wild collection plus selective propagation by US vendors built the modern market.
Keeper tips for this variant
Place on a low-flow sandbed or low rockwork under moderate light (PAR ~50-100); too much flow keeps the bubbles from inflating fully.
