Gold Octospawn
A variant of Octospawn (Fimbriaphyllia paradivisa)
A solid golden-yellow to honey-toned octospawn, often with a green or contrasting mouth. One of the more prized and less common color forms.
📜 Backstory
Aquacultured and sold as 'Golden Octospawn' (Euphyllia/Fimbriaphyllia paradivisa) by Unique Corals and as 'Gold Octospawn' WYSIWYG by Queen City Corals and others. Discussed on reef2reef as a genuinely uncommon euphyllia; buyers there caution that some online 'gold/yellow' octospawns are color-saturated green pieces, so reputable WYSIWYG sourcing matters. 'Gold' is a color-grade descriptor for gold-pigmented wild colonies later aquacultured, not a tracked designer lineage.
Keeper tips for this variant
Give moderate light and gentle flow; the gold pigment holds best under moderate, not blasting, PAR — too much light can wash it pale.
