Rainbow Octospawn
A variant of Octospawn (Fimbriaphyllia paradivisa)
A multicolor octospawn blending green, teal, gold, and pink/orange tones across the same head, often with contrasting tipped tentacles. One of the most sought-after color forms of the species.
📜 Backstory
Sold as WYSIWYG 'Rainbow Octospawn' by Top Shelf Aquatics and offered by various reef vendors. 'Rainbow' is a color-grade trade name applied to wild-collected Indo-Pacific colonies showing multiple colors at once rather than a single named designer line; lineage of any given piece is generally not tracked and grade varies by vendor. Origin debated beyond the wild-collection point.
Keeper tips for this variant
Place low-to-mid in the rockwork under moderate light (PAR ~80-150) with gentle, indirect flow so the fleshy polyps can fully inflate without tearing.
