📜 Backstory
Rainbow open brains are wild-collected single- or multi-mouth specimens, the multicolor ones picked off mostly Indonesian (and some Australian) collection stations for their pigment. Color depends heavily on collection depth and area; some plain specimens even develop more color under aquarium lighting. True multicolor Trachys are slow to divide and command a premium. The 'rainbow' grade is a collector/vendor designation rather than a named lineage.
Keeper tips for this variant
Place on the sandbed in low flow under low-to-moderate light (PAR ~50-100); too much flow tears the tissue and bright light bleaches the colors.
