The most sought-after wild Florida Ricordea grade: a multicolor polyp blending burnt-orange and light-orange vesicles, a pink or green mouth, and an outer skirt of purple tentacles often shot through with green.
📜 Backstory
A wild-collected color grade of Ricordea florida from the Caribbean/Florida Keys, sold as 'Rainbow Ricordea' by KP Aquatics, Top Shelf Aquatics, Foxy Saltwater Tropicals and most Florida-collection vendors. It is a selected wild polyp rather than a single named clone line, so any two 'rainbow' rics differ; polyps typically arrive unattached due to Florida collecting practices. True multi-color rainbow rics command a premium over plain orange or green.
Keeper tips for this variant
Give it medium light and low-to-medium flow on the sandbed or lower rockwork; Ricordea florida is forgiving, but too much direct flow keeps the polyp from inflating and very intense light can wash out the color. Reproduces readily by division.
